"I can no other answer make, but, thanks, and thanks."
-- William Shakespeare
I. We Are Indebted:
John, a member of the family responsible for setting up The Triumph Fund, was struck in September 2010 with a diagnosis of colorectal cancer. Sadly, he passed away in August 2014, just days before the second Lorax Dinner. While John was waging his fight, we also suffered the loss of a loving brother-in-law, Roger, to colon cancer in June 2012.
The Triumph Fund is dedicated to the eradication of all cancers, not just colon cancer. As we travel the road of a family that has battled cancer, we know we have many to thank. Thus:
1) We thank our extended family, including our siblings, in-laws, nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles, for their tremendous love, support, and prayers in this battle. Our family also has donated time, energy, silent auction items, and cash -- donations which collectively allowed Honoring The Lorax to be such a success. This overall support fuels the fight and the passion of The Triumph Fund to rid this world of cancer.
2) We thank our friends, some of whom have or had cancer, and all of whom also have provided the love, support, and prayers that make a cancer patient smile as he or she engages in this fight.
3) We thank the physicians and staff of the Medical College of Wisconsin and Froedtert Memorial Hospital in Milwaukee for their care, compassion, and brilliance, as well as their hugs. Among others, we thank Dr. James P. Thomas, Dr. Kirk A. Ludwig, Dr. Kiran K. Turaga, Dr. T. Clark Gamblin, and Dr. William S. Rilling of the College and Dr. Sam G. Pappas, formerly of the College and now with Loyola University. We also thank their respective staffs, including Yee Lan Wong and Deb Andris, and those kind and caring nurses and others who compassionately staff the Day Hospital. Although a simple thank you to these fine and talented individuals is hardly sufficient, it is the least we can do.
“I would thank you from the bottom of my heart, but for you my heart has no bottom."

II. We Thank Our Sponsors, Donors, Attendees, and Volunteers:
We thank our Silent Auction Sponsors, our Cash Donors, our Event Attendees, and our selfless Volunteers - and all those who helped make the past events such a success.
III. A Special Thanks:
John, one of the founders of The Triumph Fund and the one who initially wrote this piece, was always thankful for his wife, Janis, and their daughters, Lauren and Jenna, for more than he could articulate. They are the fuel that allows the engine called The Triumph Fund to run.
Finally, John's family is very grateful for all the support of family and friends over the past year.
We are helping make a difference in this battle. We thank you!
"Silent gratitude isn't much use to anyone."
